Spring 2017 Fitness Classes for SEBTS Women

The Student Activities & Discipleship office is excited to offer FREE fitness classes for women at Southeastern. This semester, we’re offering 2 different classes: High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and Zumba! Our instructors are experienced in leading group fitness classes and are excited to serve the women of SEBTS in this way.

Zumba classes will be offered every Tuesday and Thursday evening starting January 24 from 6:30-7:30pm in the Ledford center. Christina is the instructor for this class. This will be her second semester teaching these classes at SEBTS and we’re excited she’s a part of this team!

The HIIT classes will be rolling every Monday night starting January 23 from 6:30-7:30pm and each Tuesday and Thursday morning starting January 24 from 6:15-7:00am. They’ll be led by Jenna Hurst and Erica Wu. Both women have experience teaching these classes at Southeastern.

The goal of offering these free exercise classes is to create a safe place for Southeastern women to workout, laugh together and build community–all while honoring the Lord in the way that we care for our bodies.

Here’s a glimpse into what you’ll find in our classes:

Zumba®
We take the “work” out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and World rhythms take over, you’ll see why Zumba® Fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise. Super effective? Check. Super fun? Check and check. It’s a total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class.

HIIT
Each class is a unique combination of both high and low intensity exercises–designed to get your heart rate up and challenge each muscle group in different ways. Classes will incorporate body weight exercises, steps, free weights and cardio intensive moves for a workout that anyone can be proud of. These classes are designed to be flexible for women of any fitness level-so there’s a little something for everyone!
