Update on Campus Operations in Relation to Hurricane Florence

As Hurricane Florence approaches landfall in the next few days, you my or may not be aware that the forecasted impact on the Triangle area and the campus has drastically changed from earlier in the week. Most forecasts are saying that we will receive 3″ to 6″ of rain between Friday and Wednesday. There is the chance of gusts up to 40mph, so we still urge you to use caution when outside.

We are remaining with the schedule to suspend campus operations (this includes classes and offices) starting today, Wednesday, at 5pm through Saturday. However, the Ledford Center will remain fully operational during the following times:

  • Wednesday – close at 7pm
  • Thursday & Friday – 8am to midnight
  • Saturday – 10am to midnight

Magnolia Kitchen will be open on reduced hours. Please click here to check the Magnolia Kitchen schedule.

While the forecast has changed for us, please keep in mind that we have many students, alumni, and family members in the path of the storm. This storm has the potential to cause loss of life and significant loss of possessions. Please join everyone at the school in praying for God’s grace and mercy for those in the path of the storm. Also, be praying that followers of Christ will have an opportunity to show the love of Christ to those that are hurting. The CGCS will be communicating about ways to assist with the relief effort post-storm once details are coordinated with the North American Mission Board.

Plans are for all classes and offices to operate on a normal schedule on Monday. We recognize that some students might be in the areas impacted by Hurricane Florence and for various reasons cannot travel to campus for their classes or complete online work due to electrical power/internet issues. Please try to communicate with your professor directly, if this ends up being your situation.

Do your best to make safety your greatest priority.
