Calling all SEBTS: 40 hours of prayer for upcoming election, personal & national revival

“If . . . My people who are called by My name humble themselves, pray and seek My face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.”

-1 Chronicles 7:13-14 (HCSB)

Students, Faculty and Staff,

You and your family are invited to participate in the 40/40 Prayer Vigil in Appleby Chapel on November 2-4. The 40/40 Prayer Vigil is an event sponsored by the North American Mission Board and the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission that encourages members of the Southern Baptist Convention to join together in either 40 days or 40 hours of prayer for personal and corporate revival. The event is also intended to be a precursor to the upcoming election and to encourage the SBC to be in prayer for the leaders of our country.

SEBTS has decided to partner with NAMB and the ERLC in hosting the 40/40 Prayer Vigil on our campus in the format of a 40-hour, around the clock, vigil. We have set aside Nov. 2-4 (Friday night – Sunday AM) as the 40 hours of prayer for the SEBTS family and we have divided the hours up according to demographic groups. Time blocks have been set aside for residents of the various housing complexes, faculty and staff, commuter students, and distance learners.
