Improve Your Skills for Musical Worship in Spring 2014

As Bob Kauflin writes in his book Worship Matters, “Skill matters to God” and “Skill helps us serve the church.” In the Spring 2014 semester, Southeastern students have opportunities to improve musical skills to better serve the church in worship ministry.

1. Improve your singing with Susan Lozaw, a certified instructor of contemporary vocal techniques. Sign up for MUS1530/5530 Voice Class for Non-Music Majors meeting from 10:00 to 11:50 on Mondays.

2. Learn to play keyboard with Debbie Kim, adjunct instructor for piano, including how to read and play chord charts and create accompaniments in contemporary styles. Sign up for MUS1534/5534 Section ANON Piano Class, meeting Thursdays from 11:30-12:20 (8 student limit).

3. Learn to play guitar with Derek Day, adjunct instructor for guitar. No experience is necessary (but an acoustic guitar is needed). Sign up for MUS1536/5536 Beginning Guitar Class, meeting Fridays from 9:00-10:50 on Fridays (12 student limit). Additional opportunities are available for experienced players.
