The Caskey Center for Biblical Text and Translation is pleased to welcome Dr. Mark Strauss as he delivers the 2026 Page Lectures. His lecture will be titled, “Lost in Translation? Challenging Words for New Testament Translators: With Implications for the Goals, Methods, and Limitations of Bible Translation.”
Dr. Strauss will deliver his lecture in two parts. A free lunch, catered by City Barbecue, will be served during the first lecture at 11:30am. We will take a break at 1pm and resume the second lecture at 3:30pm, with coffee and dessert provided. Guests are welcome to attend one of the lectures even if they cannot attend the other one. Space is limited, so please reserve your spot for each lecture below!
Dr. Mark Strauss is the University Professor of New Testament Emeritus at Bethel Seminary San Diego. Dr. Strauss is the author/coauthor of 20 books and many articles, and editor/co-editor of 40 volumes, with expertise in Gospels, Hermeneutics and Bible Translation. His books include “40 Questions on Bible Translation,” “Four Portraits, One Jesus: A Survey of Jesus and the Gospels,” and “Gospel of Mark, Zondervan Exegetical Commentary on the New Testament.” He also serves as Vice Chair of the Committee on Bible Translation for the New International Version and as an associate editor for the NIV Study Bible.
