Do you feel challenged by mission opportunities? If you’re interested in learning about God bringing the nations to the Triangle, please make plans to attend a meeting presented by  World Relief.  As of 2010, there were over 160,000 immigrants living in the Triangle. Among the people groups of significant population in the area are some of the most unreached, including Iraqi, Somali and Sudanese.  The meeting will be held at the World Relief offices located at 801 Gilbert Street in Durham. Human Trafficking & the Mission of God (Fri., Oct. 26)

Come learn about both global and local human trafficking and oppression issues and discover avenues for getting involved in the work of fighting injustice with Larry Martin, Church Mobilization Director for the International Justice Mission.

Events will take place Friday, October 26, with sessions at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the Center for Faith and Culture seminar room at SEBTS.

Crossfit for Harrison McKinion (Oct 20)

Harrison, the 10 year-old son of Dr. McKinion, is a fifth-grader who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on December 9, 2011, just five days after his birthday. Acute lymphoblastic leukemia is the most common form of childhood cancer.

CrossFit Confortare will be hosting a benefit workout on Saturday, October 20th, 2012 at 10:30am to raise proceeds for the McKinion family. All funds raised will be given to the family. Those wishing to participate or donate can sign up here:

Southeastern musicians join Mt Vernon Baptist giving “Praise to the King” (Oct 19)

On Friday night, October 19, at 7:00 PM music ensembles from Southeastern will be joining with musicians from Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Raleigh for a concert of worship music entitled Praise to the King. The program will include worship songs, hymn arrangements, choral anthems, and instrumental music accompanied by Scripture readings and opportunities for those attending to respond in song. Featured ensembles from Southeastern include the Chapel Choir, the Southeastern Orchestra, the Doxology Praise Band, and the Doxology Contemporary Vocal Ensemble.

Praise to the King is free and open to the public.

While you are theologically trained in the classroom here at Southeastern, it is our hope that you will not neglect the body God has given you (1 Cor 6.19-20). Our office seeks to provide different opportunities for students to meet and work-out together in a light-hearted, God-centered atmosphere.
