6 Ways the Financial Aid Office Can Serve You

If you’re like most students, paying for school can be intimidating and overwhelming. Many students often feel ill-informed about financial aid and options available to them both as a prospective and current student. As such, many students will avoid even walking into a financial aid office until absolutely necessary! Here at SEBTS, our financial aid team is made up of individuals bent on serving each student and God’s kingdom with excellence. We aim to serve our students through the following:

1) Monthly Scholarship Notifications:

Our financial aid website is a great tool for both incoming and perspective students. However, we realize all of the scholarship information can be a bit overwhelming. Thus, each month our office hopes to send out notifications to students regarding various financial aid opportunities approaching. We hope you will keep an eye out for these emails and take advantage of as many scholarship opportunities as possible!

2) Financial Aid Application:

Through the graciousness of our donors, there are currently over 70 institutional scholarships! Those scholarship opportunities have been combined into one simple online application. The financial aid application is the best starting place for anyone hoping to receive institutional funding. It opens twice per year in January and September. Although receiving an award is never a guarantee, our office works very hard to distribute scholarships to assist as many students as we can.

3) Brainstorming Financial Aid Options:

Our office desires to see each student complete a degree at Southeastern debt-free. To do so, we will happily come alongside you to assist you in brainstorming various ways to make your education affordable. Our experienced team will assist you in providing helpful resources to search for scholarships, consider alternative forms of aid and talk with you through your financial situation to help you make the wisest decision for you and your family.

4) Processing Your Aid:

Each year our office processes a wide variety of financial aid. Our office is happy to assist you in processing any state-aid, private loans, church donations, institutional scholarships and various external funding. We work very hard to ensure each scholarship is correctly placed on your student account. If you ever have a question regarding your scholarship status, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

5) Answer Your Questions:

The Financial Aid Office is committed to serving you through answering your various questions regarding aid. Our hope is that each student is equipped with the tools and information necessary to make well-informed decisions to fund their education. For that reason, we are available via phone, email, and face to face interactions to answer your questions! We would love to hear from you.

6) Constant Improvements:

It is our goal to offer the best possible service to our students by striving for excellence in all that we do. Thus, each year our office seeks ways to improve upon the last. We seek out various scholarship opportunities, review processes and procedures to deliver the best to our SEBTS students. We welcome your feedback in this process!
