Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church is looking for volunteers to be leaders for their Disciple Now next Weekend (April 19-21). If you are interested in serving, please contact Chris Woods at email@example.com. Details below
What is it? Disciple Now is the biggest weekend of the year for the Student Ministry of Wake Cross Roads. It focuses on discipleship and serving and includes music, activities, and speakers. On Friday and Saturday nights, families from the church open up their homes and “adopt” a group of students. These groups are made up of 6-12 middle or high school students and 2 adult leaders.
What are the leaders responsible for? You get to minister to our students by leading them in discipleship for the weekend. You will get to transport them, lead discussion with them, and worship with them. Your biggest responsibility will be to spend time with them and to show the love of God to them, while being an example of a mature follower of Christ.
What are the commitments for the weekend? 4:30pm Friday through 2pm on Sunday.
Where will I stay? You will stay in a host home with the students in your group. We have asked for a bed for the leaders, but this cannot be guaranteed.
Can I request a certain age group? Yes, we will do the best we can, but sometimes requests conflict and we cannot accommodate all of them.
Will it cost me anything? If you have a vehicle, there will be costs for driving the students. If this added expense is a problem, reimbursement can be accommodated.
Will I need to enforce rules? You are the leader of your students, and you will be required to enforce some rules that we will cover in the leaders meeting. We want to be respectful to our church and our host homes. We ask that you would lead your students to be this way.
Will there be an orientation? Yes, the church will provide dinner on April 16. At this dinner we will cover important information for the weekend.
